About Digby Brown's Glasgow office
Welcome to the headquarters of our firm.
Based at 2 West Regent Street, G2 1RW, we’re a stone's throw away from Buchanan street, Scotland's busiest street.
Getting to our Glasgow office is really easy, we are a 5-minute walk away from Glasgow Queen Street train station, a 10-minute walk away from Glasgow Central train and Buchanan Bus station.
Who works here?
More than 100 staff are based at this office, making this the largest Digby Brown office. From here, we have helped hundreds of people across Glasgow and surrounding areas secure rightful compensation after an accident or injury which was not their fault.
Everyone from IT to Human Resources to cycling claims specialists to the dedicated welfare rights team who help serious injury survivors navigate the complex world of financial support.
Each office has resident teams that specialise in many case types and in our Glasgow office, those teams are dedicated to:
- Brain injury claims
- Spinal injury claims
- Road traffic accidents claims
- Work accident claims
- Cycling accident claims
- Criminal Injury Compensation Authority claims
- Defective product claims
- Asbestos and Industrial disease claims
- Accidents abroad
How experienced are the Glasgow staff?
Digby Brown is a national firm which means we can offer our services to everyone regardless of where they live in Scotland (or where in Scotland they were injured). But some of the biggest cases in recent legal history have been handled by Digby Brown Glasgow staff.
David Nellaney oversaw the civil claims of those affected by the M&Ds rollercoaster tragedy while David Wilson helped bereaved family members get answers following the loss of their loved ones in the 2014 bin lorry disaster.
The BBC highlighted our legal action against Jet 2 on behalf of dozens of holidaymakers who were injured after a bus crash in Tenerife while Sky News reported our £1.5m lost limb injury claim for amputee firefighter Ian McDonald who lost his arm following a training exercise at work.
It’s also useful for many to know that our Serious Injury team is on the doorstep of two other key organisations for spinal cord injury survivors – Spinal Injuries Scotland and the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit at the Southern General Hospital. Having such key organisations in close proximity to each other can really help people who require services from all three.
Then of course there’s our Industrial Disease team. This department has an intimate understanding of the history and issues that affect people impacted by asbestos-related diseases. It’s a reputation and expertise acknowledged by the likes of Clydebank Asbestos Group which frequently refers service users to Digby Brown for help with civil claims linked to historic exposure.
If that’s not enough to assure you of our Glasgow credentials then Chambers & Partners also rate the firm Band 1 in Glasgow, Edinburgh and surrounding region for personal injury work – the only firm to earn this ranking.
What do Glasgow staff do when they’re not doing legal stuff?
So much!
Our Glasgow staff are not just engaged in legal matters – there are frequent and varied events in their calendar every year that they engage in all in the name of giving back to the community.
Our staff in Glasgow are making dedicated fundraising efforts for their 2024 charity partner – Chris’s House – an organisation that provides a safe place where individuals experiencing or on the brink of a suicidal crisis can access professional support in a safe environment.
Every year Chris Stewart, Head of the Serious Injury department, hosts the Head Injury Information Day – an annual event that brings together Glasgow injury lawyers, brain injury survivors and healthcare practitioners to share knowledge and support.
This is why staff from Glasgow are also best placed to help host the Winter Dinner Dance – an annual black-tie fundraiser that always raises more than £50,000 every year to help survivors of spinal injuries. In addition, staff from this office also help organise, support and attend an outdoor activities day at Castle Semple near Lochwinnoch for members of Spinal Injuries Scotland.
And of course, the Glasgow office is on the doorstep of St Mirren Football Club – of which the firm is the principal sponsor.
