Stuart joined Digby Brown as a trainee in 2007, having graduated from Glasgow University with an Honours degree in Economics and an LLB.
He has spent his career to date as a valued member of the Serious Injury department. In May 2014, Stuart became an Associate within the department and in 2016, he became Partner.
Stuart regularly litigates high value and complex cases in the Court of Session. He has run cases to Proof in the Outer House and dealt with appeals in the Inner House. Stuart has extensive expertise gained from dealing with particularly complex care needs of those who have suffered brain or spinal cord injuries. He has particular knowledge and experience of dealing with issues arising from Adults with Incapacity.
Stuart appears regularly in the Sheriff Court seeking the appointment of Financial and Welfare Guardians. He has also carried out internal and external training on this issue.
Stuart is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Personal Injury Law. He is also accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) as a Senior Litigator and as Brain Injury Specialist and Spinal Cord Injury Specialist. He is also a Notary Public.
