Glasgow accounts supervisor faces her fears with Falkirk Wheel Abseil for Scottish SPCA

Sue takes on the Falkirk Wheel Abseil

Sue Subramaniam from our Glasgow office abseiled a massive 100 FEET from the iconic Falkirk Wheel earlier this month to raise funds for the Scottish SPCA (SSPCA).

After the passing of her dog, Carlisle, in Autumn last year, Sue donated some of his belongings to the SSPCA - that’s when she was told about their abseil fundraiser.

Sue said: “I’ve always been afraid of heights but I wanted to face my fears this year.

“What better way to do it than to be part of a good cause all at the same time!”

The SSPCA works to make Scotland a better place for animals to call home by rescuing, protecting and leading the conversation on animal welfare.

A cause close to Sue’s heart, she faced the challenge head-on and took the plunge determined to make a difference for the charity.

She recalled: “I felt a mix of emotions on the day but fear wasn’t one of them anymore - oddly enough, I felt Carlisle’s presence and I think that helped massively.

“I’d like to thank the team at the Falkirk Wheel who helped me. They were top notch and I felt really confident and safe with their guidance.”

Sue had a fundraising goal of £250 but with the generosity of family, friends and colleagues she raised a fantastic £360 for the charity.

Well done, Sue!
