Digby Brown to donate more than £14,000 after Reconnecting Matters event
DIGBY Brown Solicitors has raised a massive £14,423 thanks to a mass fundraising effort involving 23 simultaneous events.
A total of 176 staff took part in ‘Reconnecting Matters’ which was designed to reunite friends and colleagues following 16 months of working from home.
Some people took part in cycling or Munro bagging last Friday while others went bowling or played 5-a-side football.
The fundraising was achieved by the firm pledging money for various accomplishments like each mile covered on a bike ride or each goal scored at football with the final amount to be shared among seven charity partners.
It follows the success of last year’s Scottish Courts Challenge when the firm raised £17,500 after completing a 1,433-mile virtual loop of the country’s civil courts in less than 24 hours.
Digby Brown Chief Executive Fraser Oliver, who went on a cycle ride and took part in the 5-a-side football, said: “Last year our charity effort was all about physical endurance, mental resilience and pushing ourselves - all while being alone due to self-isolation rules.
“But now that restrictions have eased the time felt right to organise something more fun that brought people together.
“The dedication and effort of our staff helped make the day a great occasion and what’s better is how much money they helped raise for good causes across Scotland.
“Even with the bad weather you could see that everyone was enjoying themselves as was evident with the selfies that flooded our social media feeds.
“Achieving goals as one team and delivering results for our charity partners matter to us and I would like to thank all staff who took part to make this great final sum possible.”

- Dundee Local Charity - NICU Ninewells
