Digby Brown staff walk more than 19 MILLION steps for Global’s Make Some Noise

After proudly supporting Des Clarke during his 52-mile trek from Fife to Glasgow to raise money for Heart's official charity, Global’s Make Some Noise, staff from across Digby Brown's seven offices took on their own challenge.
Determined to, quite literally, go the extra mile for the charity our staff laced up their walking shoes and committed to matching the same number of steps that Des completed – all 119,523 of them – over a three-week period.
From walking meetings, scenic holiday strolls, rainy-day rambles and heartwarming adventures with loved ones (and plenty of four-legged companions!), our staff found creative ways to hit their step goals.
We had an incredible 162 staff members take part in the challenge to make a real impact with every step taken resulted in the firm raising an additional £8,424 for Global’s Make Some Noise – all directly going to support local causes across Scotland.
Craig Semple, Marketing Director of Digby Brown said: "We couldn’t leave Des to do all the hard work walking for 24 hours without showing our support however the logistics of asking everyone in the firm to walk alongside him was impossible given our spread of offices. Instead, the idea of the virtual walk mirroring his step count made so much sense.
"We showed our support as well as engaged with people across Digby Brown which was great from a health and well-being perspective whilst raising additional money in the lead-up to the Dinner Dance for Spinal Injuries Scotland – simply a perfect plan coming together.
"The fact that so many took up the challenge was heartening to see.”
Thank you to everyone who took part and supported such an amazing charity.
