Digby Brown was awarded the Community Contribution prize at the 2020 Scottish Legal Awards.

The accolade was confirmed in recognition of the firm’s efforts to help charities and communities.

Such efforts included helping raise more than £80,000 for Spinal Injuries Scotland via the celebrated Winter Dinner Dance, raising awareness for asbestos victims through sponsored walks and hosting the vital Head Injury Information Days for brain injury survivors.

On top of that, each of the firm’s seven local offices helped raise funds for mental health charities in their region through local events such a marathons, bake sales and quiz nights.

The latest gong is also the sixth time in seven years the firm has won a charity-related award.

Fraser Oliver, Chief Executive at Digby Brown, said: “Retaining this award rightly illustrates that charity work is in the DNA of Digby Brown.

“We are a firm with very clear and simple, but powerful, values and we believe that if you can do good then you should do good.

“I am pleased the Scottish Legal Awards see value in the efforts of our staff who consistently go above beyond what is expected of them.

“They do more than simply help in the court room – nearly every month we are engaged in activities dedicated to helping individuals and communities and I would like to extend my congratulations and thanks to everyone involved in these projects.”

The Community Contribution Award recognised the charity work the firm engaged in over 2019/20.

The 2020 Scottish Legal Awards was originally scheduled for March 2020 but due to COVID-19 it was delayed until this week when a digital event was held on Wednesday 4 November.
